Where to find Bay Area Birth Center
What parents say
I cannot recommend Bay Area Birth Center enough. In 2014, Talena was my doula during an extremely difficult pregnancy and a very long labor that ultimately ended in an unexpected emergency C-section. During one of the most frightening experiences of my life, she was an incredible advocate for me and my baby.
Talena was amazing. She is so knowledgeable and capable. She was very encouraging and supportive, as well as respectful of my beliefs and desires for my birth. I really appreciate her so very much. I had a home birth Water birth, and she was great.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Bay Area Birth Center a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- Bay Area Birth Center is a freestanding birth center — a facility separate from a hospital. Freestanding birth centers typically serve low-risk pregnancies and have a hospital-transfer plan in place; ask Bay Area Birth Center about theirs, and confirm with your provider that a birth-center birth fits your situation.
- Does Bay Area Birth Center offer water birth?
- Water birth or birthing tubs come up in their public listing or reviews. Tub availability can change and eligibility depends on your situation, so confirm directly with the facility and your provider.
- Does Bay Area Birth Center accept insurance or Medicaid?
- We couldn't confirm insurance details from public information. Ask the facility which plans they accept, and check with your insurer about coverage for the type of birth care you're planning.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call (813) 736-9062 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
