Don't let the poor review below scare you.. I live an hour and a half away from the Birth Cottage. I had no issues with early labor at home with the guidance of Adriane over the phone. She knew exactly when to have us pack our car and go.
3 years ago my son was born, naturally and medication-free in a hospital. It was OK but too "hospital like" for me. I knew next time around I wanted something different. I would give Milford Birth cottage 10 star if I could. After a few friends recommending this hidden gem to me I decided to check it out.
My experience at the Birth Cottage exceeded my expectations. After having an awful experience with prenatal care, childbirth, and postpartum care in a hospital setting, I was convinced that new mothers had little to no support outside of their own families.
Every birth is different, but the vast majority of births in the world are low-risk pregnancies that are a normal part of life. The birth cottage midwives and student midwives showed personal care and helped us through a long labor for our first child. We certainly plan to come back for any future births.
