Where to find CHA Birth Center
What parents say
Any women that are pregnant or even if you become pregnant in the future, I strongly suggest Cambridge Birth Center. Especially ****WOMEN OF COLOR*** I chose a water birth and it was the best experience ever.
Compassionate, LGBTQ friendly nurse midwives and staff who really take the time to listen to you. I received my prenatal care here and although I was not able to deliver in the birth center because I became higher risk when I went into labor, the transition to birth in Cambridge Hospital across the street was seamless.
Fondly remember & have driven my boys back to see CHA Birth center as their place of birth many times! The care recieved was impressive, both knowledgable & compassionate.
Frequently asked questions
- Is CHA Birth Center a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- CHA Birth Center is a freestanding birth center — a facility separate from a hospital. Freestanding birth centers typically serve low-risk pregnancies and have a hospital-transfer plan in place; ask CHA Birth Center about theirs, and confirm with your provider that a birth-center birth fits your situation.
- Does CHA Birth Center offer water birth?
- Their own website mentions water birth or birthing tubs. Tub availability can change and eligibility depends on your situation, so confirm directly with the facility and your provider.
- Does CHA Birth Center accept insurance or Medicaid?
- Their public listing or website mentions insurance or Medicaid. Coverage varies by plan and by service, so verify your specific plan directly with the facility and your insurer before you commit.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call (617) 665-2800 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
