Where to find Columbia Birth Center
What parents say
Giving birth at Columbia Birth Center was an experience I'll never forget. The staff and midwives are so kind and helpful; you can tell they actually care about you. I was able to give birth completely naturally with their guidance.
My wife gave birth to our first baby here because we wanted a more natural, hands off, comfortable birth. And it went amazing. The midwives are amazing. The assistants are amazing. Loved this place and the birth was perfect, Praise God! Now we’re here again, expecting a second baby!
I recently gave birth to my 7th baby at the birth center. My other six were all birthed naturally at the hospital and though my experiences at the hospital were positive, it does not compare to the care that my baby and I received at Columbia Birth Center.
I can’t say enough wonderful things about Columbia Birth Center. Giving birth there was the best experience I could have imagined, far exceeding my expectations. From the very beginning, the entire staff was warm, welcoming, and supportive.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Columbia Birth Center a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- Columbia Birth Center is a freestanding birth center — a facility separate from a hospital. Freestanding birth centers typically serve low-risk pregnancies and have a hospital-transfer plan in place; ask Columbia Birth Center about theirs, and confirm with your provider that a birth-center birth fits your situation.
- Does Columbia Birth Center offer water birth?
- Their own website mentions water birth or birthing tubs. Tub availability can change and eligibility depends on your situation, so confirm directly with the facility and your provider.
- Does Columbia Birth Center accept insurance or Medicaid?
- Their public listing or website mentions insurance or Medicaid. Coverage varies by plan and by service, so verify your specific plan directly with the facility and your insurer before you commit.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call (509) 905-9000 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
