What parents say
I had Natalie for both of my pregnancies and she’s amazing. The care is so much better than what you’d get from a traditional doctor’s office-not only does she spend WAY more time with you (our appointments were an hour), but she starts her appointments on time (my doctor was always late).
As a brand new mom- soon to birth our first child we decided to do a homebirth and work with a midwife. I am so thankful for doctors- but I really wanted a homebirth experience and the ability to be seen without needing to go into a hospital or a clinic.
Natalie helped me deliver my last two babies at home. She was the first one who arrived during my very unexpected, fast labor/delivery of my daughter. The instant she walked into the room there was a wave of calm and peace that I so needed to slow down the speed and intensity of what was happening.
Natalie is such a wonderful midwife to work with. She has such a calm, warm demeanor and answered every question I had during my pregnancy with such care. She spent so much time with me at each prenatal (and postnatal) appointment.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Cypress Midwifery a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- Their public listing categorizes them as midwife and pregnancy care center, not a hospital maternity unit. Ask them directly where births take place and how they coordinate with hospitals, and confirm the details with your provider.
- Does Cypress Midwifery offer water birth?
- Their own website mentions water birth or birthing tubs. Tub availability can change and eligibility depends on your situation, so confirm directly with the facility and your provider.
- Does Cypress Midwifery accept insurance or Medicaid?
- We couldn't confirm insurance details from public information. Ask the facility which plans they accept, and check with your insurer about coverage for the type of birth care you're planning.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call (805) 996-0119 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
