What parents say
I was on the fence about using a doula for my third birth since I already had experienced both a hospital birth and a natural birth without a doula and it didn’t feel like it was a good use of money. I’m sooooo glad I did and these ladies are THE BEST.
When writing up our birth plan, Krystal and Katrina were so helpful to share knowledge, while also respecting our choices. I was so grateful to have knelt knowledge and experience when choosing what I wanted in our birth plan.
My Highest Recommendation for Katrina Aspnes. Katrina was my doula for my first baby 5 years ago and demonstrates the highest level of integrity by sharing pertinent information that influences my birth choices - some of which I didn't even know to ask.
Katrina was an incredible support throughout my second pregnancy and at the birth. I had a very quick labor (6 hours start to finish) and she was at my side immediately when I texted her I needed her; she was a constant and calming presence for both me and my husband at the hospital.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Denver Birth Services a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- Their public listing categorizes them as pregnancy care center and service establishment, not a hospital maternity unit. Ask them directly where births take place and how they coordinate with hospitals, and confirm the details with your provider.
- Does Denver Birth Services offer water birth?
- Water birth isn't mentioned in the public information we have for Denver Birth Services. If a birthing tub matters to you, ask the facility directly — options change, and our data may not capture everything they offer.
- Does Denver Birth Services accept insurance or Medicaid?
- We couldn't confirm insurance details from public information. Ask the facility which plans they accept, and check with your insurer about coverage for the type of birth care you're planning.
- Where does Denver Birth Services work?
- They're a service-area practice based in Aurora, Colorado — rather than a single facility address, they serve families across the area. Ask whether your location falls inside their coverage when you inquire.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call +1 303-956-0352. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
