Where to find Firstlight Midwifery Care
What parents say
Choosing Firstlight Midwifery was the best decision I made regarding the birth of my child. Dawn and Emily helped me feel heard, safe and welcomed every step of the way from pre-natal to the delivery of my baby to post-natal care.
I wish I could give them 6 stars! Emily and Ann are a wonderful blend of knowledge and compassion. They took time at every appointment to listen to my concerns and questions. But they also gave us room to make our own informed medical decisions for myself and our baby. I never felt judged or unheard.
My first two births were traumatic but coming to Dawn, Emily, and Ann was the best decision I could have made for my third baby. I had such a wonderful pregnancy, labor and delivery, and postpartum care. The team is thoughtful, caring, kind, and patient.
Dawn and her staff are great. Her office is very nice, welcoming and cozy. She is very caring, genuine, and knowledgeable. I'm glad I've been able to know her. She is a truly a hidden gem in Tacoma.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Firstlight Midwifery Care a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- Their public listing categorizes them as midwife, not a hospital maternity unit. Ask them directly where births take place and how they coordinate with hospitals, and confirm the details with your provider.
- Does Firstlight Midwifery Care offer water birth?
- Water birth isn't mentioned in the public information we have for Firstlight Midwifery Care. If a birthing tub matters to you, ask the facility directly — options change, and our data may not capture everything they offer.
- Does Firstlight Midwifery Care accept insurance or Medicaid?
- We couldn't confirm insurance details from public information. Ask the facility which plans they accept, and check with your insurer about coverage for the type of birth care you're planning.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call +1 253-219-6249 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
