Huge shoutout to Dr. Kelsey Pendleton! This was my second home birth, and after my first (which was quite a rollercoaster and emotionally challenging toward the end) I knew how important it was to have a provider who truly saw and heard me. From the very beginning, I felt so confident that Kelsey was the right choice.
After two hospital births, my husband and I decided to have a homebirth for our third child. I worked with Jessie throughout the pregnancy, who was an absolute powerhouse of knowledge and compassion. The prenatal appointments were so much more than the 10 minute check of baby’s heart rate you get at a hospital.
Loved having Fiona as our home birth midwife! This was our third child (second home birth) and when I learned about the Gennisi collective, my husband and I were a bit hesitant at the cost but in the end glad we went with our gut.
Deciding who would be at my side during pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum was one I didn't take lightly. We chose Jessie as our midwife and it was the best decision we could have made. Jessie is so knowledgeable and made my husband and I feel confident doing our first birth at home.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Génnisi Birth Services a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- Their public listing categorizes them as midwife and service establishment, not a hospital maternity unit. Ask them directly where births take place and how they coordinate with hospitals, and confirm the details with your provider.
- Does Génnisi Birth Services offer water birth?
- Water birth or birthing tubs come up in their public listing or reviews. Tub availability can change and eligibility depends on your situation, so confirm directly with the facility and your provider.
- Does Génnisi Birth Services accept insurance or Medicaid?
- We couldn't confirm insurance details from public information. Ask the facility which plans they accept, and check with your insurer about coverage for the type of birth care you're planning.
- Where does Génnisi Birth Services work?
- They're a service-area practice based in West Allis, Wisconsin — rather than a single facility address, they serve families across the area. Ask whether your location falls inside their coverage when you inquire.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call +1 262-432-3142 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
