Where to find HeartSpace Midwifery
What parents say
It is my pleasure to write a review for Heidi & Maureen! They delivered my daughter 6 months ago, she’s my second child and my first experience with our first midwife for the birth of our son was a very difficult and a disillusioning experience!
I recently gave birth to my 4th child and it was my first experience with a home birth. When we found out we were expecting, I needed to find a new OBGYN as we were new(ish) to the Albany area. Initially I went with Albany OB and decided it wasn’t the right fit.
I worked with Heidi for a plan in welcoming our child. Heidi is an excellent listener and empowered me to set up our daily lives in a way that created an attune environment that promoted attachment and health for both our child and us as parents.
Being care for by these amazing women and in your home is an entirely different and amazing situation. They solely took care of me and my second baby whom we delivered at home in our bed. We cannot imagine doing it differently. This worked so well for us as people and for our family life.
Frequently asked questions
- Is HeartSpace Midwifery a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- Their public listing categorizes them as midwife, not a hospital maternity unit. Ask them directly where births take place and how they coordinate with hospitals, and confirm the details with your provider.
- Does HeartSpace Midwifery offer water birth?
- Their own website mentions water birth or birthing tubs. Tub availability can change and eligibility depends on your situation, so confirm directly with the facility and your provider.
- Does HeartSpace Midwifery accept insurance or Medicaid?
- We couldn't confirm insurance details from public information. Ask the facility which plans they accept, and check with your insurer about coverage for the type of birth care you're planning.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call (518) 588-7122 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
