What parents say
We had an awesome experience with High Desert Birth Services and Lareina for our daughter's birth. She was a total support to my wife the whole time, super responsive - spending tons of time answering our questions, and was extremely calm as she took cues from my wife about how best to support my wife while in labor.
There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think about my beautiful experience with Midwife LaReina and Doula Talisa. This was my second pregnancy but my first time seeing a midwife as my primary care. The stark difference between this route and an OBGYN is insane.
LaReina is absolutely amazing! All appointments with her are very patient centered. All appointments lasted an hour long and she was very thorough when answering any questions I had.
I met LaReina in October 2021 when I decided to have a home birth. She has been with us every step of the way! Including me finding out I had Gestational diabetes…. She provided a blood testing kit and checked in on me everyday to make sure my daughter was healthy.
Frequently asked questions

- Does High Desert Birth Services offer water birth?
- Their own website mentions water birth or birthing tubs. Tub availability can change and eligibility depends on your situation, so confirm directly with the facility and your provider.
- Does High Desert Birth Services accept insurance or Medicaid?
- We couldn't confirm insurance details from public information. Ask the facility which plans they accept, and check with your insurer about coverage for the type of birth care you're planning.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call (760) 997-8732 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
