What parents say
Amazing Experience. I gave birth in 2019 @ St Lukes and birth in 2021 @ Mercy. I would say Mercy was hands down the better experience overall. I absolutely loved the nurses, the care, the food and everyone went above and beyond for us.
Had a great experience here with the staff. They made a surrogacy birth seamless and did their research before I arrived and was able to answer all our questions thoroughly. The only problem that I had is that a Highschool student shadowing was let in to watch me give birth without my consent.
I had my first baby 2 months ago and I was so impressed with all of the nurses and physicians who took care of us! We were treated like family and everyone went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable! I am so grateful to everyone here for helping my son enter this world safe and healthy.
I absolutely loved my experience here at Mercy Hospital! Everyone made me feel loved & accepted. I absolutely adored Brittney & Moira, they were so understanding, they made sure I was well taken care of, & that I left with no questions unanswered!
Frequently asked questions
- Is Mercy Birthplace a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- Mercy Birthplace is a freestanding birth center — a facility separate from a hospital. Freestanding birth centers typically serve low-risk pregnancies and have a hospital-transfer plan in place; ask Mercy Birthplace about theirs, and confirm with your provider that a birth-center birth fits your situation.
- Does Mercy Birthplace offer water birth?
- Water birth isn't mentioned in the public information we have for Mercy Birthplace. If a birthing tub matters to you, ask the facility directly — options change, and our data may not capture everything they offer.
- Does Mercy Birthplace accept insurance or Medicaid?
- We couldn't confirm insurance details from public information. Ask the facility which plans they accept, and check with your insurer about coverage for the type of birth care you're planning.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call (319) 398-6332 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
