Where to find Midwives of New Jersey
What parents say
My husband and I can’t say enough wonderful things about our experience at Our Birthing Center with the Midwives of NJ. From the moment we arrived, we felt safe, supported, and completely confident in the care we received. The facility itself is absolutely beautiful new, clean, and incredibly comfortable.
The Midwives of NJ were incredible throughout my entire pregnancy and birth. They always offered alternative options — for example, I didn’t have to drink the glucola; they let me do the breakfast option instead.
I loved working with the Midwives! First time mom and worked with them from the beginning of my pregnancy. They were thorough and respectful but very personable, and I loved the welcoming woman-centric office and care I received.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Midwives of New Jersey a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- Midwives of New Jersey is a freestanding birth center — a facility separate from a hospital. Freestanding birth centers typically serve low-risk pregnancies and have a hospital-transfer plan in place; ask Midwives of New Jersey about theirs, and confirm with your provider that a birth-center birth fits your situation.
- Does Midwives of New Jersey offer water birth?
- Water birth isn't mentioned in the public information we have for Midwives of New Jersey. If a birthing tub matters to you, ask the facility directly — options change, and our data may not capture everything they offer.
- Does Midwives of New Jersey accept insurance or Medicaid?
- Their public listing or website mentions insurance or Medicaid. Coverage varies by plan and by service, so verify your specific plan directly with the facility and your insurer before you commit.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call +1 201-499-7119 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
