I feel like Wonder Woman! And that is thanks to two people. First to this tiny human, and secondly to our doula Mary. From the moment we met Mary, my husband and I felt and instant connection with her.
We are so thankful for Mary and the work she does! Lamaze classes were wonderful for preparing us for our first birth & we took classes again to prepare for our second. I felt empowered, educated, and prepared for birth thanks to these classes. Mary also attended my second birth & was absolutely invaluable.
I could not have gotten through delivery (or pregnancy) without Mary Duke and her hip squeezes! We hired her for our second child as I wanted to have a VBAC (vaginal birth after caesarean). It was successful! Really really tough, but successful. My husband and I both leaned on her a lot.
We really benefitted from Mary’s Lamaze class. It’s not all pushing positions and breathing practice like some think birth classes will be. She taught us how to talk to our provider and advocate for the birth we want, helped us to understand the birth process and know it’s not something to fear, and really built…
