Where to find NorthPointe Birth Center
What parents say
Where do I even begin? Words can't fully capture the depth of gratitude I have for Jamie, our midwife, and the entire team at NorthPointe Birthing Center. I mean, who else can say their midwife knitted a newborn hat and baked cookies while they were in labor? Yes, you read that right—cookies!
I am a huge fan of NorthPointe! I had an unmedicated hospital birth with our first and when NorthPointe opened shortly before we found out we were pregnant with our second, we knew we wanted to have our second baby there. Jamie was so awesome during my prenatal visits.
As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I knew I wanted to give birth at NorthPointe Birth Center. I wasn't disappointed! My birth experience was positive not only for myself, but for my family as well! The staff created such a welcoming atmosphere. I always appreciated being offered water and a snack every visit.
I chose NorthPointe Birth Center for my 4th pregnancy, and I was blown away by how comfortable the atmosphere is and the kindness from each nurse & midwife. My family was able to be with me during labor and delivery, which was a huge plus for me.
Frequently asked questions
- Is NorthPointe Birth Center a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- NorthPointe Birth Center is a freestanding birth center — a facility separate from a hospital. Freestanding birth centers typically serve low-risk pregnancies and have a hospital-transfer plan in place; ask NorthPointe Birth Center about theirs, and confirm with your provider that a birth-center birth fits your situation.
- Does NorthPointe Birth Center offer water birth?
- Water birth or birthing tubs come up in their public listing or reviews. Tub availability can change and eligibility depends on your situation, so confirm directly with the facility and your provider.
- Does NorthPointe Birth Center accept insurance or Medicaid?
- Their public listing or website mentions insurance or Medicaid. Coverage varies by plan and by service, so verify your specific plan directly with the facility and your insurer before you commit.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call +1 815-525-4730 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
