Where to find Premier Birth Center
What this center offers
“I very much wanted a water birth this time around, as my first was born in a hospital.”
“The entire team of midwives and staff created such a calm, kind, welcoming environment that made all the difference during my pregnancy, labor, and postpartum care.”
“I had two births at the center and one home birth, and by chance, each of the three midwives delivered one of my children.”
“Although I wasn’t able to deliver there due to my pregnancy becoming high-risk at 37 weeks, the prenatal care I received was absolutely wonderful.”

What parents say
Highly highly recommend this center! Everyone is super friendly and take the time to know you and listen to any concerns you may have. They supported any decisions I made for my baby and answered all of my questions that I had. The birth was super relaxing!
I don’t know where to start. The entire team is amazing ! I had my first baby here and it exceeded my expectations. I was fortunate to have Nancy McMillen as my midwife and she was so wonderful, caring and compassionate. I was in labor for over 12 hours and Nancy helped me get through it.
I can't express how much I enjoyed coming to Premier for my fifth child. The experience was wildly different from going to a hospital, which was nice, but much more clinical and business-like. Which is fine, but this place really stands out as a place where the people really care.
We truly can't say enough positive things about Premier Birth Center. From the moment we began our journey with them, it was clear we were in the hands of a team who not only love what they do, but genuinely care about the families they support.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Premier Birth Center a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- Premier Birth Center is a freestanding birth center — a facility separate from a hospital. Freestanding birth centers typically serve low-risk pregnancies and have a hospital-transfer plan in place; ask Premier Birth Center about theirs, and confirm with your provider that a birth-center birth fits your situation.
- Does Premier Birth Center offer water birth?
- Their own website mentions water birth or birthing tubs. Tub availability can change and eligibility depends on your situation, so confirm directly with the facility and your provider.
- Does Premier Birth Center accept insurance or Medicaid?
- Their public listing or website mentions insurance or Medicaid. Coverage varies by plan and by service, so verify your specific plan directly with the facility and your insurer before you commit.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call (540) 709-1737 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
