Where to find Preparing For Birth
What parents say
My first home birth experience was with these lovely midwives. Sometimes in birth things can go unexpectedly. Two weeks early I began to have what I could explain as sharp “contractions” after going on a long hike. I Texted Desiree and Tiffany relaying what was going on as the contractions began to get closer.
We’ve had home births for the last 4 children but just moved to Colorado and had to find a good midwife. Desiree and the staff at Preparing for Birth were extremely knowledgeable and friendly while giving us prenatal care. Of course the big reason we recommend them is because of how the birth went.
I had an incredible experience with Desiree as my midwife. It was a huge contrast to the OBGYN I saw for the first 20 weeks of my pregnancy. she genuinely cared about me and my well being. If I mentioned aa problem she would always follow up and help me work through it if it was not resolved.
Desirre and Tiff are wonderful, knowledgeable and experienced midwives! They were able to help me navigate information and options towards a healthy and safe pregnancy, homebirth and postpartum.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Preparing For Birth a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- Their public listing categorizes them as midwife and doula, not a hospital maternity unit. Ask them directly where births take place and how they coordinate with hospitals, and confirm the details with your provider.
- Does Preparing For Birth offer water birth?
- Water birth isn't mentioned in the public information we have for Preparing For Birth. If a birthing tub matters to you, ask the facility directly — options change, and our data may not capture everything they offer.
- Does Preparing For Birth accept insurance or Medicaid?
- We couldn't confirm insurance details from public information. Ask the facility which plans they accept, and check with your insurer about coverage for the type of birth care you're planning.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call (719) 432-9712 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
