Where to find The Birth Center
What parents say
I have delivered SEVEN babies; my 1st I had an epidural, and the last 6 were natural, but 6 of the 7 were birthed in a hospital, and my last was born here in February 2021. My experience was AMAZING compared to a hospital.
I visited the birth center in 2020. I was a client at the height of the pandemic & let me just say, I couldn't of been happier. I still, 2 years later, love sharing how amazing all the ladies there are & my overall birthing experience.
The Birth Center changed my life! From the very first appointment i felt like the staff at TBC actually cared about my well-being. At every appointment i felt like my questions were welcomed and answered fully, the midwives shared so much of their knowledge with me and encouraged me in my pregnancy.
Gave birth to my son here and had such a great experience from start to finish. The prenatal care was fantastic - not a bunch of unnecessary visits. And when you did go, they would sit and ask if you had any questions every time so you didn’t feel rushed out like at the doctors!
Frequently asked questions
- Is The Birth Center a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- The Birth Center is a freestanding birth center — a facility separate from a hospital. Freestanding birth centers typically serve low-risk pregnancies and have a hospital-transfer plan in place; ask The Birth Center about theirs, and confirm with your provider that a birth-center birth fits your situation.
- Does The Birth Center offer water birth?
- Their own website mentions water birth or birthing tubs. Tub availability can change and eligibility depends on your situation, so confirm directly with the facility and your provider.
- Does The Birth Center accept insurance or Medicaid?
- We couldn't confirm insurance details from public information. Ask the facility which plans they accept, and check with your insurer about coverage for the type of birth care you're planning.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call (302) 658-2229 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
