What parents say
I had the most amazing experience throughout my journey here. Not only is every single midwife very knowledgeable but they are kind and make you feel comfortable. Everything is explained and I never felt like I couldn’t ask a question.
Absolutely amazing experience--TWICE. I had two of my three children at the Birth House (and I wish I'd had my first there). Every midwife treated me so warmly, and they always took time to answer every question I had. The rooms were so warm and welcoming, and I always felt completely safe there.
Our first son is nearly a year old now, and I still think regularly about how wonderful this place is. Whenever we drive by and see the baby signs lit up or the count climbing, it makes me feel good about family life in our community.
Amazing place to have a baby!! I was fortunate enough to be able to attend many prenatal appointments and the births of 3 of my grandchildren here. The care my daughter received was so thorough and respectful. Each visit was unrushed, all questions were answered and testing explained and offered.
Frequently asked questions
- Is The Birth House a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- The Birth House is a freestanding birth center — a facility separate from a hospital. Freestanding birth centers typically serve low-risk pregnancies and have a hospital-transfer plan in place; ask The Birth House about theirs, and confirm with your provider that a birth-center birth fits your situation.
- Does The Birth House offer water birth?
- Water birth or birthing tubs come up in their public listing or reviews. Tub availability can change and eligibility depends on your situation, so confirm directly with the facility and your provider.
- Does The Birth House accept insurance or Medicaid?
- We couldn't confirm insurance details from public information. Ask the facility which plans they accept, and check with your insurer about coverage for the type of birth care you're planning.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call +1 360-459-7222 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
