What parents say
Zeriah was amazing with me and my first child. She was understanding in moments where I felt defeated. She was encouraging and she came quickly when I told her I thought I was in labor. As a first time mom I had so many doubts about the experience of hospital births and having a child in general.
Its been over a year since The Birth Sista helped me bring my LO Earth Side & she was EVERYTHING I could have imaged a Doula to be... What I Loved the Most about her was her Pure Positive Energy Vibe...
Zeriah made our birth experience exactly what we wanted and more. We were first time parents doing a home birth and she made sure we were well prepared. Zeriah was very informative and interactive. My boyfriend and I started to not use a doula. However, I am so very grateful we did.
Zeriah was so amazingly wonderful and we could not be more grateful to have her be a part of our birthing experience. From the prenatal visits to checking in postpartum, Zeriah was encouraging and full of passion. During labor she came right over and was so helpful that I almost didn’t even know she was there.
Frequently asked questions
- Is The Birth Sista a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- The Birth Sista is a freestanding birth center — a facility separate from a hospital. Freestanding birth centers typically serve low-risk pregnancies and have a hospital-transfer plan in place; ask The Birth Sista about theirs, and confirm with your provider that a birth-center birth fits your situation.
- Does The Birth Sista offer water birth?
- Water birth isn't mentioned in the public information we have for The Birth Sista. If a birthing tub matters to you, ask the facility directly — options change, and our data may not capture everything they offer.
- Does The Birth Sista accept insurance or Medicaid?
- We couldn't confirm insurance details from public information. Ask the facility which plans they accept, and check with your insurer about coverage for the type of birth care you're planning.
- Where does The Birth Sista work?
- They're a service-area practice based in Chesapeake, Virginia — rather than a single facility address, they serve families across the area. Ask whether your location falls inside their coverage when you inquire.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call (757) 752-3919 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
