Where to find Transitions Birth Services
What parents say
I am so grateful to have had Lucky as my midwife. Every time I reflect on my experience with her this past year I feel so supported and wish I could thank her endlessly for the knowledge she shared with me throughout my pregnancy, during labor and during my postpartum period.
Where do I even begin when it comes to Lucky and her team? I’ll start with saying she helped make my pregnancy and birth experience beautiful, special, memorable, and better than I could’ve hoped for. I met Lucky when I was about 18 weeks into pregnancy and looking for an alternative to hospital birth.
Lucky provided a level of care that is unmatched. I wish every pregnant person could experience this level of support. I started my pregnancy across the country with an OB/GYN. I knew I wanted a midwife and desired a homebirth, but had so many questions.
I have had three experiences with birth, one "traditional" hospital experience, one hospital experience with a midwife team, and then my experience with Lucky and the Transitions Team. As a partner the scope of my experience was limited, but no less because of it.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Transitions Birth Services a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- Their public listing categorizes them as midwife and childbirth class, not a hospital maternity unit. Ask them directly where births take place and how they coordinate with hospitals, and confirm the details with your provider.
- Does Transitions Birth Services offer water birth?
- Water birth isn't mentioned in the public information we have for Transitions Birth Services. If a birthing tub matters to you, ask the facility directly — options change, and our data may not capture everything they offer.
- Does Transitions Birth Services accept insurance or Medicaid?
- We couldn't confirm insurance details from public information. Ask the facility which plans they accept, and check with your insurer about coverage for the type of birth care you're planning.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call (414) 367-6368 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
