Where to find Baby Catcher Birth Center
What parents say
My wife and I were adamant about having a natural birth for our first child, but we were a little worried about having at home with only the midwife as support. We were referred to The Baby Catcher center by another midwife that thought we might be a good fit for the services offered by the Baby Catcher.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Baby Catcher Birth Center and the incredible care I received from my midwife, Shatamia, during all three of my home births.
It is rare that I leave a clinical encounter feeling cared for. My experience with Baby Catcher Birth Center was simply amazing and made me wish I could receive all of my relevant healthcare there in perpetuity! From the very first visit, I was met with a perfect balance of warmth and seriousness from my care team.
We knew we wanted to have a natural birth for our first child and knew without a doubt after looking around at our options, that the Babycatcher was the place to do it. The staff is incredibly warm, grounded and knowledgeable.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Baby Catcher Birth Center a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- Baby Catcher Birth Center is a freestanding birth center — a facility separate from a hospital. Freestanding birth centers typically serve low-risk pregnancies and have a hospital-transfer plan in place; ask Baby Catcher Birth Center about theirs, and confirm with your provider that a birth-center birth fits your situation.
- Does Baby Catcher Birth Center offer water birth?
- Their own website mentions water birth or birthing tubs. Tub availability can change and eligibility depends on your situation, so confirm directly with the facility and your provider.
- Does Baby Catcher Birth Center accept insurance or Medicaid?
- Their public listing or website mentions insurance or Medicaid. Coverage varies by plan and by service, so verify your specific plan directly with the facility and your insurer before you commit.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call +1 337-484-3336 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
