What parents say
My wife and I were adamant about having a natural birth for our first child, but we were a little worried about having at home with only the midwife as support. We were referred to The Baby Catcher center by another midwife that thought we might be a good fit for the services offered by the Baby Catcher.
We knew we wanted to have a natural birth for our first child and knew without a doubt after looking around at our options, that the Babycatcher was the place to do it. The staff is incredibly warm, grounded and knowledgeable.
I knew from the day I had my consultation that I wanted Ms. Tam to be my midwife, the plan was to look around Lafayette a little more to expand my options but I told my husband she was the one! My birthing experience this time around for my second born was breathtakingly powerful.
THE BEST!!! Tammy my was my midwife for both of my home births and I couldn’t have asked for a better person by my side. I have recommended her to all of my clients/friends who ask for a referral. She is always on time, professional, and caring.
Frequently asked questions

- Does Baby Catcher Birth Center offer water birth?
- Their own website mentions water birth or birthing tubs. Tub availability can change and eligibility depends on your situation, so confirm directly with the facility and your provider.
- Does Baby Catcher Birth Center accept insurance or Medicaid?
- Their public listing or website mentions insurance or Medicaid. Coverage varies by plan and by service, so verify your specific plan directly with the facility and your insurer before you commit.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call +1 337-484-3336 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
