What parents say
What a wild journey it has been and I’m so glad to have had my midwife team at Haven for it. First baby and they made it incredibly comforting and easy. There was a class offered and even though I had done one with my doula I decided to pay for it and take it and I learned so much.
Having the opportunity to bring our baby into this world five months ago with the incredible support of the Haven Birth & Wellness Center staff was absolutely perfect! From our very first visit, my husband and I felt truly heard and cared for.
After giving birth to my first child at a larger birthing center with rotating midwives and a much more medicalized approach to birth, I was seeking some real connection and a different experience for my second pregnancy.
After 2 traumatic hospital births I decided we were going to do it differently with the 3rd and we chose to do a birthing center birth at Haven. I had some issues with my first two pregnancies and was fearful about having them again but my midwives were always there to reassure me that it would be ok, which it was.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Haven Birth & Wellness a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- Haven Birth & Wellness is a freestanding birth center — a facility separate from a hospital. Freestanding birth centers typically serve low-risk pregnancies and have a hospital-transfer plan in place; ask Haven Birth & Wellness about theirs, and confirm with your provider that a birth-center birth fits your situation.
- Does Haven Birth & Wellness offer water birth?
- Their own website mentions water birth or birthing tubs. Tub availability can change and eligibility depends on your situation, so confirm directly with the facility and your provider.
- Does Haven Birth & Wellness accept insurance or Medicaid?
- We couldn't confirm insurance details from public information. Ask the facility which plans they accept, and check with your insurer about coverage for the type of birth care you're planning.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call (512) 686-6262 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
