Short review: had a great experience! 10/10 recommend. Long review: the ladies at Hearth and Home have helped my husband and I welcome two of our babies (babies 3 and 4) in the last 3 years. The amount of detail they put into the care and medical support they provide their clients is top-notch.
The care I received from these wonderful people empowered me to be able to have my second baby at home. I had wanted my first child to be a homebirth but we needed to switch to hospital care about 2 weeks before giving birth, which was a hard decision. Being able to have my 2nd child at home was amazing.
We are so thankful for the care we received from Sarah, Charli and Emily! The hour long prenatal appointments allowed us to ask all the questions on our minds, to learn about the routine assessments at each point in pregnancy, to hear our baby’s heartbeat and to connect with our midwives, all of which helped us…
First of all - very recommended. I think it is ideal solution even for people who like hospitals and doctors but this one very intimate experience - welcoming new person - are considering having at home. Because these midwives are very professional and very detail oriented so there is nothing to be afraid of.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Hearth and Home Midwifery a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- Their public listing categorizes them as midwife and childbirth class, not a hospital maternity unit. Ask them directly where births take place and how they coordinate with hospitals, and confirm the details with your provider.
- Does Hearth and Home Midwifery offer water birth?
- Their own website mentions water birth or birthing tubs. Tub availability can change and eligibility depends on your situation, so confirm directly with the facility and your provider.
- Does Hearth and Home Midwifery accept insurance or Medicaid?
- We couldn't confirm insurance details from public information. Ask the facility which plans they accept, and check with your insurer about coverage for the type of birth care you're planning.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call +1 971-361-8144 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
