What parents say
My delivery was within the last year FYI. Some nurses are highly compassionate and professional and others seem to lack a great deal of maturity, ability for empathy and/or interpersonal skills.
To the incredible Labor & Delivery team at Kaiser, I want to extend my deepest gratitude for the exceptional care I received during the birth of my baby late last year.
I had the most amazing nurse that was there with me through triage and the delivery of my daughter. Her name is Julia and I will never forget her. She made it the most amazing, comfortable experience.
I want to start by saying the entire staff and nurses who cared for us were all amazing in their own unique way. While I can’t imagine their jobs are easy, we are so thankful for the experience we had with our delivery.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Labor and Delivery a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- Labor and Delivery is a hospital-based labor & delivery unit. Hospital L&D units handle all risk levels, with medical care available on site. Tour policies and birth options vary, so confirm directly with the facility and your provider.
- Does Labor and Delivery offer water birth?
- Water birth isn't mentioned in the public information we have for Labor and Delivery. If a birthing tub matters to you, ask the facility directly — options change, and our data may not capture everything they offer.
- Does Labor and Delivery accept insurance or Medicaid?
- We couldn't confirm insurance details from public information. Ask the facility which plans they accept, and check with your insurer about coverage for the type of birth care you're planning.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call +1 503-571-4550 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
