“I made the choice to have a midwife assisted home birth and Cheryl was an amazing choice!”
What parents say
Cheryl was my husband and I’s midwife for our first baby. (: She was incredibly knowledgeable, very attentive to my needs, and deeply cared about giving baby and I the best care possible. Any time I had questions (and I had a lot of them haha), she was more than willing to answer—and in a timely manner!
Love these ladies! I first found Cheryl in 2018 for my first pregnancy and now for my second in 2024! I believe it was just Cheryl back in 2018 and now she has a whole team of experienced midwives and students with her! I loved everyone I worked with through the 9 months and ended up delivering with Sarah.
Cheryl and Sarah are absolutely amazing midwives! I had my 4th baby with them, but it was my first home birth. It was the most incredible experience! They were so encouraging and took care of me so well throughout my entire pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
Cheryl and her team are simply the best! I felt genuinely cared for throughout pregnancy, and PP. Cheryl was such an encouraging presence at labor, and was so helpful! She always remained in good spirits and kept me confident in having my baby at home.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Midwife KC a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- Their public listing categorizes them as midwife, not a hospital maternity unit. Ask them directly where births take place and how they coordinate with hospitals, and confirm the details with your provider.
- Does Midwife KC offer water birth?
- Their own website mentions water birth or birthing tubs. Tub availability can change and eligibility depends on your situation, so confirm directly with the facility and your provider.
- Does Midwife KC accept insurance or Medicaid?
- We couldn't confirm insurance details from public information. Ask the facility which plans they accept, and check with your insurer about coverage for the type of birth care you're planning.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call (913) 214-2162 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
