Where to find Midwifery & Women's Health Care
What parents say
It’s been 2 ½ years since I saw a lactation consultant here after an extremely traumatic birth. She is the reason I was able to successfully and exclusively breastfeed my daughter for 18 months. She was the first medical professional I saw after leaving the hospital, and I broke down crying in her office.
I switched from an OB clinic to Midwifery & Women’s Health Care around 30 weeks pregnant. This was the best choice I could have made. My baby and I were so well taken care of during pregnancy, labor, delivery and postpartum. It was very important for me to have agency.
I switched to Midwifery and Women’s health care for my third pregnancy and could not have asked for a better experience. My prenatal care was thorough, Compassionate and evidence based. They were supportive in my desire to pursue a vbac all throughout. Rachele delivered me and it was a great experience.
The care I received here is not like any other. These midwives treat you as an individual and give true, informed consent and care. I’ve had two wonderful birth experiences (VBAC’s!!!) with their support. I feel like they far exceed the standard we are used to in women’s healthcare settings.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Midwifery & Women's Health Care a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- Their public listing categorizes them as women's health clinic and childbirth class, not a hospital maternity unit. Ask them directly where births take place and how they coordinate with hospitals, and confirm the details with your provider.
- Does Midwifery & Women's Health Care offer water birth?
- Water birth isn't mentioned in the public information we have for Midwifery & Women's Health Care. If a birthing tub matters to you, ask the facility directly — options change, and our data may not capture everything they offer.
- Does Midwifery & Women's Health Care accept insurance or Medicaid?
- We couldn't confirm insurance details from public information. Ask the facility which plans they accept, and check with your insurer about coverage for the type of birth care you're planning.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call (907) 561-5152 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
