Where to find Minnesota Birth Center
What parents say
I felt at home here right away. The staff are so kind, informative, and welcoming. They welcome any and all questions. I never felt forced with any intervention. I had a beautiful birth with the help of Lori. I ended up switching my care to MBC at 37 weeks and am so glad I did! During my labor at MBC St.
My experience at the MN Birth Center (St Paul) was amazing from my first prenatal visit to my last postpartum visit (and everything in-between!) I met with several of the midwives throughout my prenatal care, all of whom were so wonderful.
I cannot recommend the Minnesota Birth Center enough! This was my fourth baby but first time at a birth center and I wish I could go back and have all my babies here! The prenatal care was great, I enjoyed all of the midwives I met.
I am still amazed by the awesome care I received at the MN Birth Center (St. Paul) location. I always wanted a more natural birth and didn’t know what was possible until I found the MN Birth Center. Every appointment leading up to the birth of my little one was awesome.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Minnesota Birth Center a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- Minnesota Birth Center is a freestanding birth center — a facility separate from a hospital. Freestanding birth centers typically serve low-risk pregnancies and have a hospital-transfer plan in place; ask Minnesota Birth Center about theirs, and confirm with your provider that a birth-center birth fits your situation.
- Does Minnesota Birth Center offer water birth?
- Water birth isn't mentioned in the public information we have for Minnesota Birth Center. If a birthing tub matters to you, ask the facility directly — options change, and our data may not capture everything they offer.
- Does Minnesota Birth Center accept insurance or Medicaid?
- Their public listing or website mentions insurance or Medicaid. Coverage varies by plan and by service, so verify your specific plan directly with the facility and your insurer before you commit.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call (651) 689-3988 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
