Where to find Portland Natural Birth
What parents say
We interviewed seven midwife teams, before we settled on Portland Natural Birth. We knew instantly we wanted to work with them! Having both had some very negative experiences with hospitals and conventional medical practitioners, we were very selective about personality types, experience, as well as patient care…
It’s a struggle to articulate my immense gratitude and positive thoughts, feelings, and emotions for PNB and my home birth experience. After a traumatic in hospital birth and the resulting grief I had my heart set on a home birth for my second pregnancy.
Mirra and Jaime guided me through my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey with my first baby, Theodore. I felt comfortable and safe in their mindful and heartfelt care. I felt listened to, and empowered to make my own choices. Both Mirra and Jaime are very knowledgeable, patient, personable, and kind.
Jamie and Mira were the first and only midwives we interviewed, and we knew it was the right fit as soon as we sat down with them. As first time parents we weren’t sure about anything other than I was sure I wanted to have a natural birth at home, which my partner came around to thanks to the expertise of our midwives.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Portland Natural Birth a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- Their public listing categorizes them as midwife, not a hospital maternity unit. Ask them directly where births take place and how they coordinate with hospitals, and confirm the details with your provider.
- Does Portland Natural Birth offer water birth?
- Water birth isn't mentioned in the public information we have for Portland Natural Birth. If a birthing tub matters to you, ask the facility directly — options change, and our data may not capture everything they offer.
- Does Portland Natural Birth accept insurance or Medicaid?
- We couldn't confirm insurance details from public information. Ask the facility which plans they accept, and check with your insurer about coverage for the type of birth care you're planning.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call (971) 258-1879. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
