Where to find Serene Midwifery
What parents say
April was our Midwife for our first baby! She did an amazing/ outstanding job. She is very passionate about pregnancy and birth. She is honest and open about the questions and concerns we had. We felt like she was more than a midwife when she stepped into our house, we felt as she was part of our family.
April truly went above and beyond to support us during a long, slow labor. She was the advocate, expert, and supporter that we needed and gave us the freedom to take the reins when we wanted. Due to a misalignment, labor was slow, but with her expertise, she was able to recommend positioning that worked like magic.
April was referred to us by a friend - I immediately felt a connection with her in our consultation meeting - and I am so glad that we chose Serene Midwifery. I can not say enough wonderful things about her or speak highly enough of her - SHE IS AMAZING.
I have worked with this team both professionally and personally and love them! I have seen firsthand the way that they kindly care for their clients both in the good times and in the hard times.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Serene Midwifery a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- Serene Midwifery is a freestanding birth center — a facility separate from a hospital. Freestanding birth centers typically serve low-risk pregnancies and have a hospital-transfer plan in place; ask Serene Midwifery about theirs, and confirm with your provider that a birth-center birth fits your situation.
- Does Serene Midwifery offer water birth?
- Their own website mentions water birth or birthing tubs. Tub availability can change and eligibility depends on your situation, so confirm directly with the facility and your provider.
- Does Serene Midwifery accept insurance or Medicaid?
- Their public listing or website mentions insurance or Medicaid. Coverage varies by plan and by service, so verify your specific plan directly with the facility and your insurer before you commit.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call (317) 500-4796 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
