Where to find The Urban Midwife
What parents say
Kristine has helped me through multiple pregnancies, and she helped me have the Home Birth dream I've wanted for a very long time! Our first child was born in the hospital because I needed the pain management so my backup plan was also very important and very much respected.
Smooth, peaceful and happy first-time homebirth experience with Kristine and midwife assistant Victoria! They were such a calm presence for me during labor and knew exactly when to step in. During the pushing phase of labor they quickly recognized that the position I was in was not working for the delivery of the baby.
Kristine was the midwife for 2/3 of my children. I learned more about nutrition during pregnancy, keeping my body active, and what to do to prevent common issues with pregnancy FAR more than I did with a traditional OBGYN with my first.
I highly recommend The Urban Midwife! Kristine and her team are absolutely amazing! Extremely knowledgeable and dependable. They are super caring but also very "this is how it is, I'm not gonna sugar coat it". Everything you need in a birthing team.
Frequently asked questions
- Is The Urban Midwife a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- Their public listing categorizes them as midwife, not a hospital maternity unit. Ask them directly where births take place and how they coordinate with hospitals, and confirm the details with your provider.
- Does The Urban Midwife offer water birth?
- Water birth isn't mentioned in the public information we have for The Urban Midwife. If a birthing tub matters to you, ask the facility directly — options change, and our data may not capture everything they offer.
- Does The Urban Midwife accept insurance or Medicaid?
- We couldn't confirm insurance details from public information. Ask the facility which plans they accept, and check with your insurer about coverage for the type of birth care you're planning.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call (214) 914-5015 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
