Where to find Transitions Birth Center
What parents say
I cannot speak highly enough of Transitions Birth Center. From the intake process, through delivery and postpartum the attention and care has been absolutely outstanding. The midwives, Christa, Ashley and Cindy, are exceptional.
Before becoming pregnant, I knew I wanted a different birth than a hospital. I got an epidural with my first and did not feel in control. When I became pregnant, I knew I would transfer to Transitions. I saw Carol with Full Circle until 28 weeks when I transferred.
If you’re looking for the most magical birth experience, or a first time mom wanting a natural birth AND looking for the space to confidently advocate for yourself THIS IS THE PLACE. It’s been almost 2 years since I gave birth, and I had to come back to leave a review.
Everything about my experience with Transitions Birth Center was an absolute dream! I truly cannot say enough good about this birth center and the midwives and other staff here. I left every appointment, and most importantly, the birth of my son, thinking, “This is the way things should be.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Transitions Birth Center a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?
- Transitions Birth Center is a freestanding birth center — a facility separate from a hospital. Freestanding birth centers typically serve low-risk pregnancies and have a hospital-transfer plan in place; ask Transitions Birth Center about theirs, and confirm with your provider that a birth-center birth fits your situation.
- Does Transitions Birth Center offer water birth?
- Their own website mentions water birth or birthing tubs. Tub availability can change and eligibility depends on your situation, so confirm directly with the facility and your provider.
- Does Transitions Birth Center accept insurance or Medicaid?
- Their public listing or website mentions insurance or Medicaid. Coverage varies by plan and by service, so verify your specific plan directly with the facility and your insurer before you commit.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call (904) 990-0218 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
