What parents say
I can’t speak highly enough about this place. I went through my first pregnancy here and received the most compassionate care. I truly felt respected, and listened to. The midwife’s were there for me every step of the way. When I was having a tough time I was able to just walk in to be seen.
I wanted to send a huge thank you to all of you at the True North Birth Center for being such a huge part of my life in this beautiful journey of stepping into motherhood and birthing our son Luke.
Everything about my experience at Salmonberry was perfect. The midwifery care set me up for a fearless birth and all the resources a new mom could ever need. It's hard to emphasize how wonderful these women are. The birth center itself is gorgeous and comfortable.
Miranda and Ashley were amazing in caring for our newborn. Everything went as planned during labor but shortly after the birth our child was having breathing complications. Miranda was able to stay calm and requested the assistance of Ashley to help assess the situation.
Frequently asked questions
- Is True North Birth Center a freestanding birth center or a hospital unit?

Freestanding birth centers typically serve low-risk pregnancies and have a hospital-transfer plan in place; ask True North Birth Center about theirs, and confirm with your provider that a birth-center birth fits your situation.
- Does True North Birth Center offer water birth?
- Water birth or birthing tubs come up in their public listing or reviews. Tub availability can change and eligibility depends on your situation, so confirm directly with the facility and your provider.
- Does True North Birth Center accept insurance or Medicaid?
- Their public listing or website mentions insurance or Medicaid. Coverage varies by plan and by service, so verify your specific plan directly with the facility and your insurer before you commit.
- How do I get in touch or see the facility?
- Call (360) 779-0004 or use the website link above. Most birth centers and hospital maternity units offer tours — it's the best way to get your questions answered before you decide.
